Just for your interest, I run a small nonprofit in southern India, and we put this symposium of blogposts together looking at COVID in India and its possible aftermath.

thanks to all speakers, unfortunately I have to leave and miss the best part, discussion.

01:16:50
Can I add something as well

01:22:28
Unfortunately my microphone is not working. Deb Brennan in discussing the Australian context suggested that a window has been opened, or if you wish a windowed image in passing that debate is possible which was previously not there. Taking this as a windowed image rather than an empty vessel for me In this respect I am thinking of the possibility of discussing the policy choices made by government - ie it is a question of choice

01:22:47
i have a question to Deborah: has the Australian government introduce extra measure for violence against women during the pandemic?

01:25:55
I don't have a microphone on this computer so will type my comment. It's striking that while women's rights activists anywhere, as also feminist scholars, could have predicted that a crisis like this would lead to a rise in violence, not one single government was prepared for it. And the predominant tone in the public discourse has been surprise.

Wonderful to hear about Canada's response, including shelters in their design.

01:40:45
Women PWD often disproportionally cannot move/escape in relation to GBV and family violence especially for those who are immunocompromised regardless of lockdown measures.

01:41:28
The other thing I have been thinking about is that our attention is now focused on domestic violence... but other forms of violence also go up--forced marriage, trafficking...

01:41:42
More and more reason to engage with institutions!

01:43:24
following from Louise’s comment my earlier comment was about the choices governments make when they seek to protect, provide for and invest in their citizenry seem to ignore or discount women - invisible and predictable

01:44:57
I'd just like to thank all the speakers and contributors for their insights tonight/today and their on going work for all of us. Thank you all.

01:45:01
I’m headed off now - but thank you for a great webinar
